Liam McKelvey

Liam is a rising senior in high school who attends PA Leadership Charter School. He lives in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, and is a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps. The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps, or Sea Cadets for short, is the Navy’s youth leadership development program for students in grades 5 to 12.
Liam has been a member of the program since joining at the age of 12. Now, he is in the application process for the United States Service Academies and ROTC scholarships. The Sea Cadet program has allowed Liam to travel to 13 states to attend 50+, week-long trainings that Sea Cadets offers during both summer and winter breaks. These trainings have allowed Liam and thousands of other students across the country to receive training in aviation, STEM fields, culinary arts, emergency medicine, law enforcement, and Navy seamanship. Through the program, cadets can receive training that goes towards earning a private pilot license, SCUBA licenses and certifications, and even traveling to other countries, like Australia, where Liam will be traveling in the Fall for nine days representing the Sea Cadet program.
