Ginger Wayde is the grateful wife of Steve Wayde and mom to six amazing kids. Homeschooling for seventeen years has shaped and changed her in ways that nothing else could. Besides learning along with her children, Ginger serves on the CHAP board, hosts the weekly podcast Chattin' with CHAP, and directs stage productions for the local co-op where they live. She is looking forward to being together with the homeschool community again for this year's conference!

[post_content] => Scott Woodruff, a follower of Christ since 1971, earned his law degree from the University of Virginia. After working for John Ashcroft as an Assistant Attorney General for the state of Missouri, and later for a major regional insurance company, Scott joined the HSLDA team in 1998.  He is a member of the United States Supreme Court bar.

Over the last 24 years, he has assisted thousands of families in conflicts with social workers, police officers, truant officers, principals, superintendents, judges and prosecuting attorneys.  He has testified before state legislatures to advance and protect homeschool freedom in Maine, Virginia, Arkansas, Maryland, West Virginia, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, South Dakota, Nevada, Idaho, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. He has helped write portions of the homeschool laws and parental rights laws of several states.  As HSLDA’s Director of Legal and Legislative Advocacy, he is responsible for overseeing five lawyers and their assistants. He is HSLDA’s main attorney for issues in Pennsylvania and several other states.

Scott and his wife Jane married in 1983.  They have three adult children whom they homeschooled, one child still at home--a very special 10-year old--and six grandchildren.

[post_content] => Sarah Collins, MSOT, OTR/L is an occupational therapist with a background in both pediatrics and home health, and a homeschooling parent. Sarah was first introduced to homeschooling in 2016 while working as an OT in a client’s home; she was amazed at the learning atmosphere and opportunities within the home. Now as an OT homeschooling her own family, she noticed that parents, though experts on their own children, were invariably asking the same questions and needed resources. As a result, HomeschoolOT was established. Sarah now provides classes, consultations, and community to homeschool families to help children thrive in the activities they specifically need and want to do. [post_content] => Gretchen Roe has 21 years of home education experience with her six children, five of whom are college graduates. Although she considers herself a reluctant homeschooler, she now says it was “the best journey of my life.” With a degree in psychology and child development, she has spent the last 27 years in positions of homeschool advocacy, developing special bonds with families of children who have to work harder to learn. A former business owner, she has served on a variety of nonprofit boards. Gretchen began working for Demme Learning in 2014 as a Placement Specialist and now serves as the company’s Community Relations Coordinator. She loves the outdoors, all things furry, chicken raising, and beekeeping. She serves her local community as the high school swim coach and is a second-degree Taekwondo Black Belt.

You can find Sarah online at www.homeschoolot.com on Instagram at www.instagram.com/homeschoolOT and in the Facebook group she moderates at www.facebook.com/groups/homeschooltherapyideas.com

Vendor Workshop - Your Talents are Worth Gold! 5 Things Your Student Should Do to Discern Career Options - Career Development Advisors
"With so many options, identifying the right path can be scary, hard and tricky. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, individuals can have 3 to 5 careers in a lifetime and 9 to 11 jobs. It's not all about intellect. It is more than interests or personality alignment.

With the rising cost of college tuition, it's important to know how to help your child discern their next steps. While it's important to identify specific jobs/careers, it's equally necessary to figure out the environment and culture that is most suitable for your child, too, as this makes a huge difference on their ability to thrive, their emotional well-being and using their talents.

Join Julie Shore, Recruiter & Career Coach, and Matt Shore, Former School Administrator, as they share best practices in helping you and/or your child identify best career options."
